When you finance a home, your Loan Officer is only one part of the team working on your behalf. As your financing moves forward, you may hear from different members of your mortgage team, each bringing specific expertise to your loan.
At First Savings Mortgage, our local processing, underwriting and closing teams work in-house. That means the people working on your financing aren’t simply individual points along the way—they’re part of a team working together toward your closing.
Home financing involves a lot of moving pieces. Documents need to be reviewed and verified. Property information needs to be evaluated. Lending requirements need to be met. Final loan documents need to be prepared.
Each of those responsibilities requires different expertise.
Having an experienced mortgage team working together allows the right people to focus on the right details while staying connected around your financing. Your Loan Officer remains part of that relationship throughout, even as other members of the team take a more active role.
Your Loan Officer helps you understand your financing options, structures your mortgage around your goals and provides guidance throughout your home financing experience.
They also bring the larger mortgage team together around your loan and remain connected as your financing moves forward.
Many of our Loan Officers work with a dedicated team that may include a Loan Officer Assistant or other support professionals.
You may hear from these team members as they help coordinate documentation, answer questions, provide updates and support the day-to-day needs of your financing. They work closely with your Loan Officer and the rest of your mortgage team.
As your loan moves into Verification, your Loan Processor takes a more active role.
Your Processor reviews the documentation you’ve provided, verifies key information and coordinates any additional items that may be needed. They help prepare a complete and accurate loan package for Underwriting and may reach out to you directly when additional information or documentation is required.
Once your loan reaches Underwriting, the Underwriter performs a detailed review of your loan package and property information to determine whether everything meets applicable lending requirements.
If additional information is needed, your mortgage team will work with you to address those requests. Once the review is complete and any applicable conditions have been satisfied, your loan can continue toward closing.
As your financing approaches closing, our Closing Team helps prepare the final loan documents and coordinates the mortgage details needed for settlement.
They also work with your settlement company to help ensure the necessary loan documentation and information are in place for your closing.
A mortgage requires expertise, but expertise is most valuable when the people behind it work together.
Our teams work with one another every day, allowing them to communicate directly, coordinate around your financing and work through questions as they arise.
For you, hearing from another member of your mortgage team doesn’t mean you’re starting over with someone new. It means someone with expertise in that area of your financing is working alongside the team you already know.
From your first conversation through closing, there are people working both with you and behind the scenes to help bring your financing together.
You may hear from different members of your team along the way, but each person has a role to play and everyone is working toward the same goal: helping you move toward closing with the information, guidance and support you need.
